This music video was a low budget quick turnaround project for UK hip-hop artist Grhymey.  After a couple of pre-production meetings, we realised the budget wasn’t there to make a video that required any location shooting, so myself and producer Jason Neish decided on green-screen as the best way forward.  We completed the shoot in one intense day on XDCam HD with the help of director of photography Steve Platt, who worked amazingly fast to get through all the various camera set-ups.  Anyone who has worked with green-screen will tell you how important it is to get the lighting absolutely right, and Steve’s precision on the shoot ensured that the keying process was relatively painless.  I then edited the footage before passing the video over to motion graphics designer Mark Warner who did a brilliant job in bringing the promo to life.  Mark also added the helicopter sequence at the beginning and graded the video so that the live action footage blends perfectly with the animated backgrounds.
